Growing up in Denver, I could be found daydreaming in my grandmother’s gardens, playing in the tall grasses of a nearby vacant field, or visiting with the animals of the neighborhood. These playful interactions with nature continue to inspire my artwork.
Concurrently, I create two bodies of work. One includes temporary art interactions with specific landscapes. I document the process or end results through photographs. My other body of work consists of drawings and paintings inspired by nature and expressed through abstraction. A theme that runs through both is my interest in the paradox of impermanence– change is the only constant. The landscape reveals my human presence within it as fleeting, poetic and vulnerable. My works explore aspects of the ephemeral and how this quality ultimately connects all life with the Infinite.
